House Rescue

What the tropical climate does to your house – and how we rescue it.

Sun, salt, heavy rain and humidity work on your house every single day. Spotting the signs early saves a lot of money. Here is what to look out for – and what we do about it.

The six usual suspects

01

Salt air & rust

What happensNear the coast, salt penetrates render and concrete. The reinforcing steel rusts, expands and bursts the concrete – often first at balcony and roof edges.

What we doWe expose the steel, remove the rust and protect it, repair the concrete properly and protect the surface with a suitable coating.

02

Sun & UV

What happensThe tropical sun makes paint chalk, sealants turn brittle and plastics crack. Small cracks become entry points for water.

What we doWe use UV-resistant coatings and sealants and renew joints and connections before water gets in.

03

Heavy rain & flat roofs

What happensFlat roofs, balconies and terraces have to drain huge amounts of water in the rainy season. Without proper falls or with old waterproofing, water stands – and finds its way into the house.

What we doWe check falls and drains and renew waterproofing and connections – properly planned, not just painted over.

04

Humidity & mould

What happensHigh humidity, air conditioning and poorly ventilated rooms are the perfect mix for mould – behind cupboards, in bathrooms, in cool corners.

What we doWe find the cause, treat affected surfaces and use the right materials and ventilation so that it doesn't come back.

05

Wood & termites

What happensPergolas, doors, window frames and furniture made of unsuitable wood rot in the humid climate or become a feast for termites.

What we doWe replace damaged wood and use suitable hardwoods, protected constructions or alternatives such as aluminium.

06

Pool & terrace

What happensLoose tiles, washed-out joints and slippery surfaces around the pool are not just unsightly but dangerous – and water underneath causes further damage.

What we doWe renew surfaces, joints and pool edges with materials that stand up to sun, salt and chlorine for the long run.
